This video will most likely be popular among
students being; high schoolers up to university students, as they can relate most to the themes present eg. insecurity and figuring out one's sense of self
USES AND GRATIFICATION:
My music video supports identity, personal relationships and diversion.
The goal of this video is to allow people to feel comfortable in their own skin without feeling as though they must conform. Active audiences will hopefully read it as thus and actively work to change their behavior for the better. Also, the absurdist nature of the music video (as it plays on typical music video tropes) allows audiences to feel distracted from everyday life.
Hobbies + Style:
My target audience would dress more alternatively and enjoy music (listening or playing) of the indie rock persuasion.
By having viewers that consume media of a similar genre (media grouping) I am able to make the most out of my audiences enjoyment of the video.
Listeners of music by artists like Pink Floyd, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys etc.
As well as watchers of Indie films such as Juno, Napoleon Dynamite, But I'm a Cheerleader and Whisper of the Heart.
REPRESENTATION
In my music video I hope to represent teenagers and young adults who have felt marginalised or ostracised because of how they act, look or dress. Through the moustache I will present the idea of hiding behind a facade and I will use typical music video transitions and tropes such as a "meet cute" to add comedic effect to this seemingly serious topic.
The stereotypes that I will represent are that of:

mysterious musicians

stoic and apathetic masculinity

teenage girls in film - specifically in the typical "coming of age" running sequence the fear of growing old and young heartbreak
I will then challenge these stereotypes with a kiss between the protagonist and lead singer as it shows the importance of love and friendship rather than being a typical romantic kiss in a music video. Furthermore, by having the lead singer wear a fake moustache I am challenging the stereotypical views on femininity as gender is a construction and thus can be alternative to that which is depicted in usual media.
