INITIAL IDEAS

The opening scene is an over the shoulder shot of a man who shakes hands with a group of people and then goes into a party. -

 

• Once in the party the camera pans onto a group of people sitting on a couch. The main character (girl 1) tries to be touchy with her boyfriend who pushes her off. Upset she sits away and is invited to dance by another boy, she agrees and dances. Her boyfriend realises and pulls her back, they begin to fight. While fighting she looks uninterested and annoyed and her attention is quickly taken by a man standing behind her boyfriends who is seemingly invisible to the others. He is dressed in a silver suit with ziggy makeup on. As she turns away from him she is suddenly struck with a spotlight (transported) to an unknown location, 

 

• She continues until the end of the chorus and then look back and returns to the party. She runs home and verse 2 is set in her apartment, she takes off her makeup cleans up her dishes and opens her balcony, as she looks out while (playing guitar or reading) she hears a yell and as she looks down, she sees the boy again. The boy calls her down and as she turns away from the window, she is in her makeup again, she runs to the door in her nightdress and pulls on boots and a leather jacket. As she goes downstairs, she finds him and the run together through the plaza, they begin to dance and heavy use of crosscutting of her in an elaborate costume in the spotlight and her dancing alone in her bedroom can be seen.

 

>As the music fades out, we see her dance alone in her room.
