A THOUGHTOGRAPHIC ID

 

INT. A BEDROOM - INDISTINGUISHABLE TIME 

Opens on a white bedroom wall, we see TAI hunched against the wall, her young 17-year-old face is indistinguishable and her clothes are comfortable (fluffy socks, long sleeve shirt and grey elastic pants). She sits with her head between her knees whilst the images of colours, people and places are projected over her. The main title shows amongst these projections ”THOUGHTOGRAPHY”. "Editor's note-> This was changed because I decided to add the titles at the end"

 

Suddenly, she gets up and switches on the light of the bedside table and the projections are drowned out. She exits the frame.

 

EXT. LOOKING INSIDE OF AN ELEVATOR-MID DAY

Mid shot of TAI in the elevator the camera stays as she descends.

 

INT. TRAIN CARRIAGE MIDDAY

TAI sits looking at the camera as the people beside her lean over her and begins talking loudly

 

GUY 1:

 You just had to be there I mean oh my god it was amazing like everyone really missed you…sorry could you just..cheers.

 

Meanwhile

 

 GIRL 2: no I mean I guess it looked like fun I just don’t get why he would say that you know what I mean..sorry could you just, thanks. "Editor's note-> I ended up letting the actors say any dialogue that came to mind since it was pretty much indistinguishable with the train sounds as well as the overlay of music"

 

They lean even further over TAI and push her further into the seat. Seamless cut and TAI sits up as everyone around her has disappeared and she is alone. She lets out a breath. TOTAL SILENCE.

INT. TRAIN CARRIAGE - MIDDAY

Cut back and she is again surrounded by people in the carriage loud talking. 

 

INT. TRAIN CARRIAGE - MIDDAY

Cut back and she is alone

INT. TAI’S BEDROOM - INDISTINGUISHABLE

Fast shots of TAI screaming, no noise.

INT. TRAIN CARRIAGE - MIDDAY

Cut back and she is again surrounded by people in the carriage loud talking. She gets up quickly and exits.

 

EXT. OUTSIDE OF A CAFE - MID-AFTERNOON "Editor's note -> I changed cafe to outside benches"

TAI walks across the frame towards a cafe, two women are seated inside and she looks at them.

 

WOMAN 1: I can’t believe you really did that I mean it’s great obviously it’s great but wow, I just, I’m so proud of you.

 

WOMAN 2: I know, it’s a big step but I definitely feel like it was the right decision.

 

 They laugh and look out of the window at TAI, they wave excitedly and continue laughing.

 

WOMAN 1: finally she’s here god she really took her time.

"Editor's note-> change again so since I misjudged the distance between the benches so I let the actor's say whatever they thought would work and not much of it is needed as the time cannot be above 2 minutes and 10 seconds, so I ended up cutting most of it out and I also changed the women to 1 woman and two men.

 

TAI looks surprised but smiles and waves back, the women continue waving as if trying to get her attention. Confused she turns around and sees a woman look up from her phone, squint and wave back. Tai turns back to the woman who is laughing and we see her awkwardly putting her hand down without being noticed. The other woman runs inside the cafe.

 

TAI: mumbling oh shit…

 

INT. A BEDROOM - INDISTINGUISHABLE TIME DUE TO LACK OF LIGHT

 We see TAI on her bed scrunching up the sheets and she looks distressed.

 

EXT. BACK AT THE CAFE WINDOW - MIDDAY

TAI walks towards the window of the cafe and we see only her reflection. The women are gone.

 

INT. TAI’S BATHROOM - LATER IN THE AFTERNOON

The fluorescent lights shine down on TAI, now in comfy clothes, as she is in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror. She puts her hand up again waves and awkwardly puts it down, cringing at her own actions. She repeats the action of putting it down and starts to cry. TAI leaves and turns off the light.
