Inspirational directors

NOAH BAUMBACH: Noah is an American filmmaker. His work in films such as Francis Ha and Marriage story is full of so much raw emotion that can be so powerful for audiences but yet also many subtle messages that are embedded throughout the films he creates. This idea of a "subtle sadness" is something I wish to implement in my film opening if I can as I think it is something very real for not only me personally but also for many others my age.

MIKE MILLS: ​ Mike Mills is an American film Director and writer. I have chosen to do a study on him as a director as his films have a very nostalgic and personal feel that I would like to replicate within my opening. The idea of being able to relate to something whether or not you have experienced such topic really intrigues me. ​

GRETA GERWIG: Greta is an American film director, actor and writer from Sacramento California. Not only is Greta one of my absolute favourite directors but she is also incredibly talented in her way of storytelling. Her films have a way of managing to create such believable characters that it hardly feels as though her films are fiction and more as though they are taken from real life. This is another reason I love her as a study.
